There is one on eBay currently and I wondered what they are worth and what sort of power they can reliably cope with? Does anyone here have 1st hand experiance of these boxes?
Are they easy to fix and parts available if needed?
Are they staight cut?
Any info would be appreciated
thanks

By the time you break it twice and pay for spares, labour and time off the road/ lost track days etc, just spend the money for a great box like the Bara, and in the long run in will be cheaper! Also, it will always hold its value if you need to sell.

Sure mike will confirm, but they are only rated to 300Bhp for group N? Or somthing very similar. I had my quaife off a mate, who bought it off Porkie who had no end of trouble with it, as did my mate, as did I
... I bet there was close to 5k spent on that fucking Quaife box the amount of times it died

i know wennys car is a drag racer albeit road legal nearly 600 hp and his cozzie has a barra and his wheelspins all 4 wheels for about 30 foot off the start line and it doesn't shit itself, that is the test for a 4wd box i think and his works time and time again. i would say buying a box rated for 300 hp and running massivly over was daft and asking for it to break if used to the engines potential.

I'm running 400bhp on mine with a standard box. Its starting to get noisy now so will prob go for a barra box when the time inevitably comes. Is there ever any good 2nd hand ones about?

I think the syncro got damaged due to the quickshift (B&M) and means now I can't change into 3rd that quickly which is why I'm thinking of switching back the original gear lever.
While I'm on the subject, anyone have any idea how much it would be to replace the 3rd gear syncro? It is starting to piss me off now!! LOL!

Before anyone says anything, it was the 3rd gear syncro that fucked up, not the actual gear kit, the gear kit is absolutely fine.

Sell it on Ebay and you will get about £80-£100 for it. Laugh all the way to the bank, then go to Mike Rainbird and buy a MT75 Quickshift Knucle for £35

For your Syncro, Bara charge £200 for a strip, rebuild and dyno test, plus the cost of any parts, which for a single syncro is about £17 I think
