when some members of the team came home from the european races it was alleged that they used to bring back more than just 200 fags or a crate of stella stashed in the transporter, the value of their "duty free" items was a hell of a lot more than the current selling price of the car 
The owner and a few others had a spell in her majestys holiday camp at the time as a result

the story goes..
in '93 vic lee and a few team members were sent down for cocaine smuggling. the customs were interested in why a btcc team always tested at zandvort (holland).
the main bulk of the drugs were apparently found in the gas bottles in the trailers. lee got 12yrs.
fast forward to 2005 and lee (now free), along with jerry mahony (the ex-btcc racer) and 2 others were charged with trafficing again, lee being given another 12 stretch..

I never knew that! Did Mahony get sent down as well?
