Default turbo lag!

finally got my pro alloy cooler on my saf and the turbo lag is now terrible!
not hitting full boost until 3500rpm or just over.
my turbo is a t34/.55
is there any way to reduce the lag or will i just have to live with it?
plus point is that the car feels rapid and no doubt is ten times safer than with the 4x4 cooler i was running.

any thoughts boys and girls??

cheers

fitting a bigger intercooler shouldnt noticably affect lag.

you got a problem, and it aint the cooler (unless the coolers got a hole in it, of course )

Run a T25 and you will have boost at 2200rpm, however you can only run 10psi

if hits hitting and holdking full boost it wont be a big airleak so disconnect the pipes and redo em up as ya not gonna notice a leak that small tbh

the only thing that may be effected by a new cooler would be pressure not volume

the volume of air inside the cooler will be greater but the pressure forcing it out of the outlet and into the engine will not have changed.

Infact due to the larger volume of air pressure may have decreased if anything alltho this is not really that bad on single pass coolers.

afaik

yeah will re trace my steps and retighten eveything.
moved my dv onto the cold side aswell so its all abit tight in that area at the mo.
might cut a bit more of the boost hose and see if that maybe helps.
wont need a re map for changing cooler i dont think.
it going to AVA on sat morning to get checked over anyway and its one of their chips so they will sort out fueling etc.
fecking flying tho!!

how much more capacity does a 500 cooler actually have as there not as thick as a 4x4 cooler

oh and preasure will reduce a tiny bit allowing more flow rate, not that much though i would have thought

but then we all know fook all , thats why theres tunersm when i visited stu ( dunno if i mentioned it ) he done a presure test and noticed i had 2 boost leaks, thats the type of place ya wanna take it too

do not cut the bost hose if ya can help it, mine has been cut and now the fooker pops off on high boost in 3rd under load, hence why my cars off the road

remove the boost pipes and re attach, mine tighten u at a angle now allowing the forst part of a boost leak and then the fook pops off ( and drinks petrol like a fooker

oh and remember if ya have got a boost leak, when ya hitting 25psi ( example) ya actually over speeding the thurno and fooking the bearing to make it boost the whole, atmosphere to 25psi

i talk alot of shit but recetly this has been my issue
