Default ran over a cat, what to do?

ran over a at this morning in the van

it just ran out in front of me and there was nothign i could do, i was probably only doing about 20 mph or so but this thing came out of the blue, well, it actually came from the left from behind a parked car that was blue but you get my drift

anyway i stopped to see what was what but didn't see anything although i did notice a few doors open because of the screech of brakes (hire van, no abs)

anyway, i drove off, but there was deffinitly somethign wrong with the van as it's making lots of clackety noises now from the engine bay

thing is, if the cats mushed, what can happen?

the van is signwritten with the hire company so if someones seen the van it's not going to take a long while to figure out which one it was and who's got it

so if the coppers come a knocking on my door, what could happen to me?

What he said a couple posts above, if it was a dog you're meant to report it to police.

As above. You don't have to report a cat.

yea it's a bit unfortunate but you don't have to do anything, the noise under the car could be a broken bit of plastic, hope it's not the cat it wont be a very nice sight if it was

i'm a cat lover but that was still funny

go check first then you should make a decision, it's probs nothing if it is it's probs best to do it a home and get rid of the body, the local petrol station won't be too happy if you leave a cat corpse in there jet wash bay

Poor cat.

The thing with cats is unless they're killed outright they run off and die somewhere else. At least you stopped and had a gander.

As a pet lover... althought I fucking hate cats. I would at least try and contact the owner.

Did you see the cat or did it just disappear?

I hat a cat years back in my van, and hit it with some force.

stopped got out....no where to be seen.
drove up and down still nothing.

as has been said they do crawl off if they can.

If you find it in the bay, then look for a collar, if not then try and take it to your local vet, they will scan for a chip. and take it from you, wont cost anything. at least that way the owner can know.

Noise is likley to be a dit of plastic ducting, arch liner, engine under tray etc.... broken.

Legally tho, theres nothing to worry about.

Oh and to all you cruel bastards commening. Not only is that a little animal thats got hurt, but someones pet. Im sure you irritate a lot of people, but dont mean you deserve to get run over!

How weird
As i was reading this, our Cat Roger just came in through the Flap with a Bird freshly caught and still alive. Managed to get to it before he done the Kill.
Well its all together and seams to be just stunned so i put it in a box filled with tissue and will have to see if the poor thing recovers.
While all this was going on Roger just sat the over side of the Flap watching and slowly edged himeslf towards the Door. Just as he pushed his nose against the door to push it open, he got a Rather swift punch so he is off somewere nursing a sore nose i guess
Fucking cats. dont you just sometimes hate them
I know its instinct, but its not a very nise instinct

Talking about sumps and hitting stuff, another friend of mine had an old mg metro a few years ago, he let all the hydraulic fluid out of the suspension so it was slammed on the deck, he was bombing it down a country lane, and went over a raised drain cover, that took the sump straight off

Apparently they bring animals back to show you how much affection they have for you & that they want to add to the 'pot' to feed you. Well thats what an ex-hippy lass said to me.

Yes, i knew that as well but Roger is just a greedy fuck as he doesnt "present us with it", he just sits in the corner and opens it up and munches away.

Anyway, the Little Bird he brought home this morning has perked up and is taking water and we have given it some milk soaked bread.

Its now looking a lot better given the fact it was in the Jaws of Death only this Morning.

Only trouble we have now is what to do once its well enough as its only a sprog and not completly sure as to what Bird it is

Any ideas ??
