just been up town, bit skint so drove...

had couple of shandys and thats me lot...

walking back from club through town to car park, walks past this bloke trundling along... behind his mates...

we walk past and here him mumble 'fook off' or sumut...
my ears picked up but carried on just aware of what he was doign behind..

caught a glimpse of him hurriedly chuck his chips in the bin and put on a stride...

sees out of corner of my eye the guy comign take a swing at me.. i turned he just glanced me like clipped my ear. and he stepped back.

i said "and what the fook was that about?!"... and he just stood there at a distance... no im stood right in front of him debating where to kick off and lay one on him or walk away, as I was totally sober and he was quite well fuelled.

i see his mates look up across and then my mates (one lad and a girl) come over and dragged me away sayign dont bother.. as doing this he popped my mate in the jaw and walked off.....

i then stood around debating what to do and saw him join another 3 or 4 mates a bit away. while my friends walked on.

thought fook it not worth the hassle of a potential big kick off when there's no more threat or owt...

but now im thinking... hmmm should I of taken a decent pop at him etc it looked about 50/50 chance of coming out better off and im not a big fighter or agressive if im sober, but really shouda had a practice!

this isnt a 'grrr i wished i woulda done this i wished i woulda done that' after a fight type of thing... as im ok in that there would of been no other reason to start it other than a) pride b) to teach the cooont a lesson.

what would you of done? walked or kicked off?

I'd say if he had a pop at your mate and your mate was too cut to have a pop back, then you should of.. but then all depending on the amount of his mates there..

On the other hand, If i was walking and saw a guy hit a girl, I'd lay into him without thinking

neither me nor my mate are fighters, and it wasnt like we were coping a beating or owt when you have to step in and do something to stop it.

my mate wasnt out of it or anything, but it just riles me abit that i shoulda had a pop just for the sake of it.

there were his mates 5 secs away out numbered us 3 to 1. but that aint the issue as they werent involved.

it aint worth it unless you properly launch em and get no real damage yourself, and guessin by the sitation i read there, thas doubtful, so you better off not bothering.

as well as the damage to yourself, long protracted scraps is when you get your ass arrested, wheas ones where within a few seconds the other person is mullered you got time to bugger off.

id got no back up if i took a launch and it went wrong i.e. he got the better of me.. his mates come over... my fairy taps did fook all... and id got to drive home lol

CCTV is fine as long as they dont catch you, if its 1 good punch/kick and they KO then you just run like the wind, the chances of them IDing you are incredibly slim.

And dont worry about him feeling like hes 10men, hel soon do the same to somebody else, the situation will be a bit different, and get the pasting of his life.

Well Said Euan!!! i'm not much of a fighter either, but once I get upset I get enraged almost overwhelming!! I once picked up a dude a lot taller than me(which is about anybody except Rod! LOL) and slammed him on his back. If my mates didn't stop me I'd probably be in a lock up! LOL, I think he must of been so stunned he didn't know what to do after I slammed him on the ground!! Difficult decision to make especially if your mates were walking off. Most fights are won/lost in the first few seconds when one or the other realises they've bitten off more than they can chew.

was out in derby with ding a few month back, taxi dropped us at offy on way home but it turned out offy was shut, i get back to car and dings kicking off at taxi driver refusing to pay saying should have taken us to one that was open anyway a group of people come up etc just to be nosey etc, i walk back over to the commotion and this kid starts on me for asking ding whats happening i tell the 17 year old nobber to get fucked and push him away from me and he pulls a blade on me i grab ding by the collar and almost drag the fracas startin coont across the road and then hot foot it without looking back
