Cheers chap - my camera is new so i'm still getting to grips with a DSLR. Hopefully get some better ones next time.
Was good to watch as well you going round in front of the white Sierra. Wished I had got the pics of him laying rubber in 3rd gear out of Tower corner towards the chicane - you could plainly see it!

Si,

Awesome car and driving as per mate, was great to watch you battle it out with the 3dr, top driving from both of you..
Thanks Pete, was a pleasure ragging against someone going as quick and in a car I genuinely like - white 3 doors rule

Deffo well set up, it looked so balanced, despite being 2wd with buckets of bhp. Anyone tracking their Cossie really should look to this car for ideas on what to do to their own car. I hope the owner comes on here and says hello and tells us the spec - he was sound to chat to afterwards

Awesome, muchly ta Hopefully he'll have some with me and Martin Hadland in shot, as we did a couple of laps as close as that White 3 door and I were.

Cheers much, I like it No post / spec as such up yet as a few things I want to do to it first, and it needs more mapping as it's not making full power yet. Want to do a little post with pics, vids and spec when it's all up and running as I'd like.

I think we need a similar post with spec of the 3 door asap

I saw it when I followed him, and you can see it for the couple laps he followed me on my rear pointing camcorder.

Good work on the new toy though, DSLRs are brilliant when you know what you're doing, and still great even when you don't! All my pics on my point and shoot thing are garbage in comparison, so thanks muchly

Had a good day thanks to Marco for sorting a drill out for me
But alas after 5+ years of abuse my Dolomite engine has died RIP.
It hasnt been running as sweet as it has been and running higher than normal temps
This is the first time i have had to open the engine up due to a mech failure not bad i suppose
I put it down to the ambiant temps of the day that it was a little higher than normal
But alas it has spun a bearing ( I hope its that and not the webs of the block )
But the good news is i now have the excuse i need to upgrade to the gt40r turbo
And get some decent remote res shocks as the avo road shocks just cannot handle the spring poundages

I wasnt using as much power as i had to put the pea shooter in the tail pipe again
Still didnt save it i hope the pea shooter baffle didnt contribute to the engine failure.
AT least the new GT35 i had on is ok it has only done 70 odd miles i would have been gutted if that had been damaged,
Not to bothered about the engine as i wanted more power anyway.

more power?

saw the pea shooter, took a pic of it - i was looking forward to seeing yours on track, but that would explain why it wasnt running full boost and didnt seem as quick

i think the funniest thing about this thread ona FORD site about a FORD show is that most of us are genuinely surprised that a cossie was quick on track

Hi Jay

Thanks for providing some stern competition out on track, was some awesome track time. Sort of thing I really enjoy

As per LHD below, stick a spec up, people really need to see what you've done to your Cossie, so they can do the same to theirs. For such a big load of power it handled superbly, and you drove it well to match

I have some great footage I'm determined to get off my rear pointing camera. I hope when I watch the front camera it has some equally good stuff from when you were ahead - in car watching you lay rubber down on all the corners was cool.

Good to meet you Sat, rematch somewhere else soon I hope!

Si

Managed to get some times on my phone for spiky as I was filming him,
its not the most accurate way of timing but being continuous split times give a good indication of lap times

these are from the session with the golf

1:23.30 = 1:23.30
2:45.82 = 1:22.52
4:07.18 = 1:21.36
5:29.76 = 1:22.58
8:15.87 = 2:46.11 (missed the split!!)
9:38.83 = 1:22.96

Please someone check the maths as I’ve been up since 4:30 this morning and just got back from work

These times were from the last session

1:23.67 = 1:23.67
2:46.86 = 1:23.19
4:10.24 = 1:23.38
5:34.09 = 1:23.85

again need to check the maths

not sure if you had a passenger for both these sessions or not but very impressive stuff
