tbh mate it dont matter if you tell them or not..... they will bloody well know as they now have access to the dvla so they can check your details there n then.

According to my cousin sister, she was a week away from her 2 year probation and they took her license away and gave her a 2 year ban. She is going to Resit her test this September.

Sorry mate!!!

so surely if he takes a retest his new license will have 12 points on it? meaning an instant ban again as it is a retest and makes you a new driver again, only allowed 6 points?

of does it mean he has 12 points on the new lisence so one slip and he'll lose it again?

either way. 12 points after a year and a half of driving. maybe you should consider a bus pass.

Theres no way out of it DVLA are automatically notified of your points by the police and it will come up on there system that you have clocked up 6 points in the first 2 years and you should get a letter telling you that your licence has been revoked.

You get another 6 points to play with after a retest i think but the "PREVIOUS" points are active for 3 years which means you "HAVE" to tell your insurance company etc.. about them. And if you get anymore im shore they will take the previous into consideration to when thinking about how big a fine to give him

the way i see it is this:

you et points
they remain on your license for their full period of 4 years
they are "spent" after 3 years normally, u nless it's dd in which case it's 10 years
the insurance companies normally ask for any accidents/convictions in the last 5 years
not having been "banned" but rather had your license "revoked" mean that you will still have these points somewhere in the system, be they active or not (17 + 5 = 22, not 21 as you currently are) so these new points will mean that you have recived 12 points in the last 5 years

when you renew your insurance, you will HAVE to tell them or you may get done for inasurance fraud, in which case they will revoke your policy and give you no refunds

when they next ask you "have you EVER had insurance revoked or canceled or refused" you will THEN get continually fucked for the rest of your motoring life

if your license is now going to be revoked, when you pass the test again, you will still have to tell the incurance company about any points you have recived in the last 5 years, be they active or not

you do not have to tell them that you have got points and your license is now no longer applicabale IF you park your car up and don't move it until the insurance runs out, which means no running to the shops with your mate driving or whatever, because they it's time to start thinking about not picking up the soap

and yes, i know several peole who have been done for insruance fraud, one of them spent 12 months in a small room made of bricks and stones and wore grey clothing with arrows on it

if they ask, you have to tell them

well the good news is i got revoked and when i got my licence back it comes back with your orignal date you pass your test so if i was you keep ya insurance running and get ya theroy and test re-done asap and enjoy driving again it took me over two years to re-do mine as never needed a car but now all my points are off and licence is back from orgianal date so insurance is good to me again lol

in which case, why is the op now on his second "ban" for clocking up 6 points in the first 2 years of driving then?

not that i want to get on the "billy bullshit" bandwagon, but soemthing seems a little odd if what you are saying is the correct technical method of doing thigns

i was lead to belive once you pass your test again you got to a full licence holder as you already have 6 points on your licence this is what happend to my mate as he clocked up another 6 points after all he had to do was go to court like most people do when they get 12 and say he needs his car for work etc

After you re-passes, he will have 6 points, so if he even gets one point he loses his license again.
Its like if you get 3 points on a provisional, and then pass, you only got 3 points to play with before a ban.

but that's against what has been expalind mate

you get your 6 point cap in your first 2 years after you pass your test

if you lose the license and have to retake the test, you still have your original test pass date on it so you could argue that you've been driving for longer than 2 years and you should be able to get the full compliment of 12 points before you can start collecting bas pass vouchers from the job centre

well, he wont be able to afford to insure anything, as he will need to tell them about the ban/revoked license, even when he re passes, and also he needs to tell the insrance company about the points,

The insurrance companys know if you lie now anyway.

I got 6 points when I was 16, so when I applied for my license the next year it was already listed on there... and for the first two years if I got a single extra point, I'd have been banned. After the two years were up, I still had the points listed on my license but my limit had increased to the 'standard' 12 points.

Cheers,
Grant

yep. thats how it works,
As a mate got 6 on a provisional, did his bike test, then got 2 points which got him banned.

So either trevorcossie dont go down lakeside for a couple of years and drives like an old lady or he is losing it.... AGAIN

stupid comments like this make you sound like a tool, you have admitted to driving with no license before and regretting it, but are still happy to brag about driving you R1 without one. Quite clearly you don’t give a fuck and do not regret it one bit.

if he falls off his bike with or without a license and with or without insurance, pulling wheelies, i wonder if he'll ask "i've broken my shit pulling a wheelie and don't have a license or insurance, can i claim?" :ry:
