Default Big Problem Advice Needed!

Well its a 02 1.2 sxi corsa. Head gaskets gone again, and its only done 44 tho,

Basically it needs-

new engine £500
Engine mount £50
Electric power steering moter £200 (second hand)

Now im either thinking spend money on it, or seen as though its all creamy inside oil cap, it still runs fine, is there anything i can put in it, to stop the creamy effect and part ex it.

Really dnt no wat to do

If you have no qualms about doing it then stop round the corner from the dealer, clean it all off the best you can then do the deal. Just make sure you wear gloves as if you shake his hand with an oily hand he might get suspicious.

No salesman is going to look under the bonnet let alone open the oil filler cap. So long as it starts and runs OK that's all he will be interested in.

For what he will offer you px on it it's not worth his while getting his hands dirty.

I did the HG on my old Astra, including a head skim and full service, it cost me less than £100,
If your only using the car to go a couple o mile to work and back the creamy substance may just be condensation as the car aint warming fully,
If this is the case give it a good run out.

Why would it need a new engine? Why not just change the gasket, oil & coolant?

If it's gone AGAIN at 44K you need to have a word with whoever fixed it in the first place!!!!

PXing a broken car is a cunt's trick, especially if it's the dealer's livelihood.

timing chains rattle for a pass time on these, so a used engine might sound the same, id do the headgasket and camchain kit myself, parts are £170 i know my mechanic would charge £200 in labour

why not stick it on pistonheads or ebay as needing headgasket, may fetch ok money if your lucky, cheaper than your planned repair and then selling??

A small car dealer will offer sod all anyhow and most likely be looking to sell it on the lot, so may well check it carefully - they will spot the signs.

A larger dealer may be less fussy as they will be giving bottom book price and chopping out to auction. But then you would be buying a car off them so you'd be paying out on forcourt prices.

Its not the twinport one. Some guy asked him on the thread and he says he's sure its not the twinport. Its from a 53 plate corsa active. He also says:

"68k pal

but starts first time, running sweet as a nut, no problems and well looked after

oil regulaly changed and checked...not been thrashed around either, as like to keep the mpg good lol
"

If you want ill PM him and get a contact number/email? You need to register on corsa-c.co.uk to see the ad.........

In fact, on the next page theres a Z12 XE for sale in Sheffield for £300:

"my old 1.2 engine is now up for sale due to me finishing my conversion to a zlet and obviously no longer require this unit

Engine runs very well i have owned since november 08 and had no problems what so ever and previous owner matt hill can confirm engine is sweet.
Comes with engine and gearbox both front driveshafts and loom on engine

Engine has covered just under 88k

Item up for sale at £300 collected from sheffield pics to follow later this evening

Thanks for looking "

Ive done a head gasket on one of these engines before. The sump has to come of cause the oil pick up is bolted to the timing chain cover.Just put a second hand engine in it.
