The rental charges are for the upkeep of your line/exchange (bloody rip off IMO) How much do u use your home phone? The rental (non paper bill) should be £10.50 a month.

As BT will take a considerable amount more by default to cover their arse... If your account is in credit after 4 months you can ask then to either 1. rebate your money or 2. take a payment break.

If you go with Sky you still have to pay for the BT line rental. Virgin is where it's at, and where I'll be going soon.

Good luck trying to tell BT that you want to leave. In my experience they're a bunch of retards who ironically have the worst internal communication of any company ever. I will never, ever use their services again.

Same here i have used BT twice now and will never ever use them again. The 1st time i used them they somehow set up 2 accounts for me, one got paid and obviously one didn't so every 5 weeks i got cut off. After 8 months of phone calls they discovered the problem

I started with them a 3rd time as i needed an active bt line to move to another provider so i'm with tiscali now but i may move to sky when my contract ends. At the time sky didn't have equipment in the nearest exchange so i would still have to pay bt line rental.

Bt customer service was only ever surpassed by NTL years ago!
