Might well be a bus on rails, but what the 142 did for the UK rail system was save 90% of the branch lines from closure in the 80's

I must admit never seen any those trains and I must admit I am on the train all the time.
if I miss the 9am to notts I get on a a train like yours gracie, but its not.
I like the old ones though the one with the monster on the front and back. if you sit in the middle there is just not sound.
Hate the ones which look like the HST ones, but have a engine under you.

We run to Nottingham via Derby in the morning, not sure what time as I don't sign Nottingham (Sheffield crews sign via Derby, we sign via Chesterfield at Leeds).
But yeah, the 253/254 (HST) with the powercars at either end are still going strong 30 years after the introduction. The more modern shit that you get (220/221/222) really are dire, too much noise, an engine under your seat and poor ride quality for passengers.
