Default 1997 diesel astravan actuator rod....

....can i simply shorten the actuator rod for a slight increase in power from a cheap old banger diesel runaround?

think you have to adjust the fuel pressure too, but not sure that's possible on a dirty old astra

thats been mentioned to me already, i believe it is possible on the isuzu made engine thats fitted to this astravan.
someones said adjust until it bellows black smoke on full throttle and fit a bleed valve, im not sure about bleed valves so was going to adjust the actuator rod.
its a 450 quid banger so its not the end of the world if it breaks

go for it; just 1 turn at a time tho, otherwise it might be the quickest astra van in the world for 30 seconds
