Thumbs down possibly stiched up

Bought some parts off a pf member (no names yet) in may.waited a resonable amount of time for parts to arrive.

NO PARTS ARRIVED

contacted seller and he couldnt remember what parts he had sold me??.i reminded him and he told me he had sent them and would look for the post office receipt.

had to contact him again after a few days to check progess and he says he doesnt have the posting receipt.

i asked him was he going to refund me then as he had no proof of postage but he refuses,
quoting that i didnt use tracking service.either way if he had lost the receipt i wouldnt be covered anyway.

i could claim lost post if at least i had a receipt.

Is there a site standard,i would HAVE the receipt to cover myself or would repay the purchase price of parts.

should you be allowed trade on this site if this is your follow up to issues.

simple as

whats your thoughts

Does not really matter weather you paid for tracking or not !!.
They can't even prove its been sent.

To me can't prove its been sent = it ain't been sent.

The fact that you had to remind them what you ordered says it all about there organization

I have been done over buy a guy as well, bought 2 parts off him both "genuine" cosworth. Admittedly one part was genuine, the other (a headlight) was a standard item cut down to create the upper lug, no filed edges or any effort to conceal the fact it was a fake, I have pmmed him but no response as yet, luckily I paid via paypal and as such have some protection

I wish you all of the best

Thanks

thats what i mean, how does he expect you to have used the tracking service and to use that as an excuse for not refunding if he hasnt supplied you with a number in the first place?

Its me who sold the parts to him, he paid via paypal ages ago, the car has been gone over a month now so that tells you how long ago the parts where sent, as i heard nothing from him till a day or so ago i wasnt aware the parts hadnt arrived, i didnt recognise him until he sent me a pm as i cleaned out my pm box due to the amount i had left in there about the sierra parts, everyone else got their bits, i didnt keep a postage recipet after this amount of time due to the fact it was only standard parcels that he paid for not recorded, so why is it down to me to cough up the money due to the fact the parts have been lost, if he asked for recorded delivery i would of sent it that way like i did with a few parts to the others out there.

What bracket i fall into mate i think you'll find out most people on here know im genuine and you paid for standard postage so i cant see why i should cough up money for something that is not under my control, oh and thanks for the negative itrader comment !!

if the buyers specifically asked for the cheap option of postage looks like its a lesson learned for one of you as nothing can be proved either way.

wasnt given an option lad.
coswurv asked for 40 posted and when he noticed i was in Ireland i added on a fiver extra on my own behalf.
cant say fairer than that.
this is only about 4 weeks ago , should have kept recept if he had it so i could claim from royal snail.
it can be proven i paid but not they he posted.........

I would have given him a week then asked him where my bits were, not wait a month mate and expect him to refund you. He would maybe still have the proof of sending then.

Exactly and as for him saying he didnt have the option for recorded delivery i mean come on all he had to do was ask, why wait over a month is all i cant understand i reckon its me who's being stitched up here.

The "cheap" option still covers you for i think up to £36 and as the total was £40 then the cheap option was sufficient.

This maybe the case but after a month with no communication anyone would assume that there isnt a problem so why keep the reciept after this time its not like keeping a reciept for a new tv you've bought, i'll be fair with you Rob and offer half the money back due to the fact im a genuine person and i dont believe this is my fault but im still willing to offer this.

IMO, this is the perfect solution

WHY, because you are both at fault so both loose half

1, Rob , to be fair you should have contacted him well before now

2, coswurv , you should send everything recorded as its a few pence on top and saves all this agro

Both seem decent fellas to me so a perfect solution and both learn a hard lesson

lads ,

wasnt really a month as i paid on the 20th of may and first tried contacting him on the 12th via the sale post and then the 15th via pm when no response.the norm/average for parcels ex uk to me is about 14 days by the time poster sends and dopey royal mail/irish po get going.ye are used to a faster service so not unusual for me to wait.

anyway coswurv i will accept your offer as i think its a fair compromise .

thks for the sensible input lads

coswurv, paypal insist on you supplying proof of postage, you are lucky rob didnt pregress the claim as they would have found in his favour and returned 100% of the funds to him (including the postage cost)

In future I would send everything recorded if I was you.

I was aware of that but am not sure that he has done me over,i think its probally a po glitch so am happy to share the loss between us.Couldnt take full payment from paypal if i wasnt 100% sure.
thats just the way i am.

on another point i have now closed the paypal dispute even tho they recommended i get payment first as i cant reclaim.at the end of the day my good name is worth a lot more than 23 quid like most i believe so its in coswurvs court now.

cheers again lads
