Is there any way you can find the complete history of your car? as in where and what dealer it was first regestered with, all the names and addresses of every regestered owners etc etc....

I know you can get hpi checks but tbh they dont really tell you much apart from if its stolen/millage/finance on it etc, just wandering if you can get a complete history list from dvla??...

Would be nice to work out all my stacks of service history i have on my car

you can get a v888 form from the dvla website cost a £5 that will give you the supplying dealer and all name's and address's of previous owners takes 8 weeks to get back but then you can google the names and address's and get the phone numbers to see if any the owners have any history.

 

I know all my saphs history only 2 local owners plus me

 

just checked the dvla site and indeed you can reqest that though a v888 form, however it seems like you have to provide a very good reason to request the information you need, so trying to request the entire owner history i doubt will happen......

just been looking through my history tonight im trying to get some plates made up from the dealer that the car was sold from it was in withernsea hu19 2bx

 

i did it with my s1 just said i wanted to trace the history of the car and find out the supplying dealer.got mine no problems so is worth the £5.

 

fair enough, did you get all the previous owners too?

 

i got all the previous owners names and address's then went onto the btphone book website and searched their phone numbers to contact them about the car.

 

and did you find anything interesting off these owners? any more paperwork? etc?

 

I did this in 2001 and got all previous owners names, address, etc. Charged me £10, so its gone down Gotta love Data protection with the DVLA
