Our 04 plate 130bhp Estate does 37mpg around town and 45mpg at about 70mph.

Clutches seem to be a pain as when they go you also need to replace the dual mass flywheel.

the dual mass can be a problem, but its hit and miss as to when.

rear subframe bushes also.

engines are pretty good, i get 52mpg average and upto 62 on a 60-65mph run but i have seen cars as low as an 40 average on combined driving

the clutch going doesnt effect the fly

but if your fly is going then you might aswell replace the clutch . to have the fly and clutch replaced at ford is about £1500, i had mine done at mr clutch for £750

I've got a 2.2, getting about 37 round town, and up to 53 at 70,

My cousin has a 52 plate diesel and had the good old clutch/flywheel issue and it was bloody expensive!

I had a 53 reg zetec s diesel and fitted one of those tuning boxes. I was getting 62mpg at 70 on the motorway. The box also gave me an extra 25 bhp.
