Yes it would bother me. It would always be in the back of my mind that its an inferior car. Id rather pay more and get a genuine clean car with clear history.
depends on the car, what you were loking at and the extent of the work that had been done to repair it and by who.
ive had a cat c before and repaired it myself, that way i knew everything was ok and done right. wasnt planning on selling it but it got wrote off again! lol

Same here. I would rather pay a little more to get a 'straight' car.
Not sure how i'd feel if it was my car that I could buy it back and repair it after a crash. Suppose it would depend on the car or what sort of accident it was.
half the hpi clear cars have had a wack anyway!cat c/d cars are in no way worse then a hpi clear car in fact if been repaired well they are usually better cars!

He's actually quite right on that one mate. Somtimes maybe a bit more than 25% but generally speaking very low, more often than not much less than they paid. I used to work in insurance and it happened on a regular basis. Obviously it depends how much you pay for it to start with, but you need to be paying at least half the value of a straight car to stand any chance of getting anywhere near the money you paid if its written off again. There inferior cars, be it on paper or in the flesh so there not going to pay out for a clear straight car, and rightly so. Insurance companies dont like to pay out good money for a car thats already been paid out for before at some point.
Would not bother me in the slightest 75% of the cars ive owned have been on the list. Some people have a big problem with cat C/D cars, repaired properly there is nothing wrong with them. It would shock most people how many brand new pre reg cars are damaged and repaired before they even hit the showrooms and the new owner is non the wiser, i knew of 2 omega mv6's a few years back that were crushed by the deck of the car trasporter, repaired & sold as brand new cars still see 1 of them driving about now!
dont bother me, but some people can get really anal about it all.
an old car can be a cat c for something as simple as being keyed!!! or dent.
fucking waste of time if you ask me, but they are cheaper cause of this......
