speeding advice
A "friend and his m3 csl" were out driving this evening they approach a rounderbout then round a sweeping corner and down a dual carriage way. They made very good progress as the road was very clear at the end of the short ish dual carriage way a nice white police interceptor 320 bhp mitsi evo caught them up and pulled them over.
the officer then proceded to claim the friend was going way to fast and that "how long exactly did he wants to keep his licence" as the 320bhp evo had been unable to keep up even at 130 infact hadnt even managed to get the csl on camera...
the officer said that if the vauxhall corsa the car infront of them awaiting to enter the rounderbout had pulled out the friend would of lost control, my friend disagreed with this saying he had right of way and that he would of been able to control it.. the officer said he was issuing a penalty of driving in excess of 50 which carried £60 and 3 points of which my friend can contest but do you think this is a dangerous move being that the evo did have to hit 130mph and failed to even get the car on tape whilst catching said friend up. He asked to see the film of the pursuit which they showed him and it does show the evo hitting 130 to try and catch up...
take the 3 points and run or work out the distance and see if its possible to cover that distance at 70mph before the police car caught them up ? where does he stand ?
he also said they have a tool which plugs into the ecu and tells them exactly how fast I was going... but he didnt have it with him..

Take the 3 points and count yourself lucky it's not any worse.

i personally mate would take the three points n the fine. If it ends up in caught your friend will probably loose his licencse when the police say the had to do at least 130mph to try n catch up

disagreeing with a copper and coming out with ive got right off way type stuff wont do you any favours. even if you did have right of way the person could have misjudged the speed you were approaching at and pulled out.
you seem to be guilty as charged so whats the reason you would fight it? fighting it can lead to a bigger penatly .

i think like you say 3 points a run, was just wondering really.. the video they showed of just how fast they had to drive just to catch up defo wouldnt look good !
so can the police really just plug into your car and download ?? or was that bull ?

i had a similar one were they couldnt get radar lock as we were going around a sweeping bend with traffic on the inside lane but their video screen showed them doing 90+ just to keep up. they let me off with a warning because i passed their "attitude test" and didnt argue when id been clearly caught.sometimes its best to hold your hands up and appologies at the time...
if they bcould do you for more they would trust me !
though them going to court after doing you for 80 in a 60 they aint gonna claim " he was doing over 130mph" as that would make your fine illegal and intrue but most people wont have the balls to contest it
most would just accept the points,,, oh and you know the cars are usually recorded inside the car hence they get you to step inside the car
bollox also,,, as they ask you questions so you plead guilty,, i know this as i was stopped for a routine stop and made a comment " i thought it was cause i forgot to put my belt on"
all came back clear,,,,, so he then done me for " confessing to failing to wear a seat belt"
since they i would NEVER admit to anything no matter how guilty i may seem ,,,, OJ simpson taught me alot !!!

how can you say its bollocks when ive been let off speeding and racing on a few occassions because ive taken this approach but only when ive been clearly caught bang to rights and when theyve told me its because i have passed their "attitude test"? if your smart enough you can act remorseful without admitting anything specific like actual speed etc .obviously it depends on the situation and the copper and how much a smart arse you are with them but they always have the discretion to proceed as they see fit.

I should have been done for a heavy speeding fine, and he agreed on a red light offence which I never even did. I was releaved and took it. Fact is he probably had nothing on me, and took the easy route to getting me. Wish I'd appealed.
