mines the black 3door in the pic, i also have a mk2 XR2 as a daily driver stripped out and always very dirty cos i cains it up the lanes.
but me 3dr is me pride and joy

look at quite a few cars.
Idealy, take someone with you that knows
RST's very well, and can spot faults/potential problems.
Buy a good one and it will be a joy to own & drive......Buy a bad
one and it could well be a nightmare, as these are old (ish) cars
now, mostly with many previous owners

I agree with what doug has said , ebay is not the place to look for a good one , you will spend a while looking for one as well as most are rot boxes now
if you want a good one start looking at around Ł2.5k upwards , you might pick up a bargain though, but be warned if you buy a cheap one they are very costly to maintain. If someone gives you the bullshit about smoke and says 'oh yeh its the rings its only a ford and it will cost Ł15 to fix' walk away as its probably a lot worse , bare in mind the price of turbos now as well as i can see a few coming up for sale with smokey turbos with the seller quoting the old prices!!
there are a lot of points to trip up on but i hope you find a good one!!
this a pic of what the missus drives every day to work in all weathers and has proved to be a good everyday car!!

what made you want a S2
if i were you and looking for a S2 i would go along to your local meeting (ie join the rsowners club) and see if anyone has a good one for sale, but expect to pay around Ł3000 upwards for a good one.
other than that look on here (there was a grey one for sale really nice and straight)
or once you have joined the rs owners club you will recive a mag with cars for sale in.
or buy a copy of the ford mags theres always plenty to choose from in there.
and last of all look on www.autotrader.co.uk but you will prob have to travel for the right car.
good luck.....and happy hunting

hi hope you enjoy s2 ownership.but please be careful in your choice as if you didnt know by now.at the moment i have an escos tucked up for winter also just bought a pug 1.9 205 gti to bomb about in .its a right hoot.anyway good luck and welcome

Well guys thanks for all the responses. Believe me i will know which car is a load of pants and which is tops . I have people to go with me to inspect too. Missed the show at donnington where one of my mates had his car on show recently . Anymore shows coming up !!!!!
