Yeah, yeah I know this is not Ford related, but it certainly is for the petrolheads amongst you all!!!
An event round-up of ScoobySprint Round 2.
Not too sure about some plank called Shaun who does not know his intercoolers (he apparantly put that mistake down to having a camera rammed in his face!).
Awesome video imo -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6vJz-rEIn8
Roll on Round 3 in just over a weeks time!
Regards,
Shaun

The people that actually compete in competition are slightly closer to being a WRC driver as the numpties that give it large from the sidelines. Respect to ANYONE that takes part in a competition like this, regardless of what or how they drive.

I know exactly how you feel, when I was interviewed for a JTuner magazine I didn't have a clue what to say lol
Cosworth is good fun but because I'm using Neil Wrenn's Skyline for a couple of Time Attack events the Cossie is tucked up in his garage while his car is at mine How long have you had the spec C now? Seems like forever It looks amazing, I'm only half way through the video though because it's taking ages to load That AST suspension is the nuts, my friend uses it on his Time attack impreza type R and I'm sure that is why his car is so quick on track for only a 320bhp car!

Glad the Cosworth is still alive mate..... but I suspect it plays second fiddle to Neils 600+bhp Skyline! Are you driving for him at TA?
Had the Scoob since 2005..... just had the engine rebuilt due to the headgaskets going pop after bashing over 2.5bar through it! Took the oppourtunity to build a slightly different engine, and have now gone for a high compression 2.5. It goes like fooking stink and made 486bhp at the hubs using VPower and a standard position turbo. Just ran it in, picked it up from Tracktive Solutions on the Friday and drove it to ScoobySprint on the Sunday to nail the pants off it! Can't wait to see how it responds to Race Fuel with the high compression.
AST suspension is cool!

486 at the hubs on a Scoob is bloody impressive! Neil's car made 542 at the hubs 2 weeks ago but that's a lardy skyline lol I'm doing 2 events this season for him, his wife has just given birth to his daughter so we planned to do 2 events each this year. He did Oulton Park and I did Silverstone and now I have Brands Hatch and he has Snetterton. Not tempted to enter again? Your car should easily very easily be competitive

Marco me old mucka!!!
It was 2.5secs ahead of 2nd place and yes it has come 1st on both rounds so far. Considering it is running the restrictor, had to have a massive silencer on the back (looks like Dingys lol) and power was further reduced because of noise issues, it did very well. 2+secs is a lot around a 40sec Sprint Lap.
wirralphil,
It was not speeded up..... that car was mega quick through the first stage of the course, in the twisties!
I was offered a passenger ride in the WRC car at the end of the event and it was unbelievable how it changed direction and the speed it managed to do it at, but I guess that is what Ł500k does for you!

Paul,
I may look at doing TA again next year, but I really need to get used to the car and sort my driving out first. I have already enquired about entering a single round this year. And I do not intend in repeating any joke entrance in TA 2006. lol
Based on other cars in Club Challenge, the car is a potential podium placer....... unfortunately my ability in the car is not! lol I am however having tuition, which unfortunately did not start till AFTER the above ScoobySprint round. Better late than never though. Will see what the rest of the year brings. I am also interested in entering something called the "Nippon Challenge" next year.

This was really a TOP video.
Very litle proper driving action, but still they kept the video interresting to watch for 10minutes.
Funny at 5:50 when the camera took some time to get up to the womens face.

EJ257, iron liners, RCM Omega high-compression pistons, Arrow rods, gas-flowed VVTi heads, 850cc injectors, equal length headers, some kind of cams which I can't remember what they are! GEMS ECU with anti-lag/launch control etc, currently running a VF36, but that's going to be making way for something meatier before it hits the road

hi shaun
the wrc "works"looked mega quick on that track , but its really hard to compete against that kind of car it's just has the best of everything
it's like us putting our cossies against wrc "works"escort you got 2 hopes bob hope and no hope
these wrc cars even with very little power are very quick
i know it's only a bit of fun and its good that they bring the wrc car out to play
i wish ford would do something like that i would be in heaven ...lol...

All this shows is how much people under-esitmate a full on World car, properly thought out and tbh only comparable with other World cars.
Good video though, got a mate with a rather tasty RA that I'll mention this too as he might be up for a round or two just for fun.
Your car sound great Fagin, what do you rev it to ? what turbo ?

Marco,
Absolutely mate.... but regardless of how quick a WRC Works car is going to be, it is awesome to be able to pitch your every day road car against one. Not many events (if any) can you do that in the world.
The passenger ride was truly awesome and a priceless experience. I have the complete lap on video.
JonnyBravo,
Sounds quite nice doesn't it!
Engines revs past 8000.... limit is set to 8200rpm currently. The turbo is an AET GT30 Hybrid and the engine is a Cosworth high compression 2.5ltr. TBH because the turbo is only small, peak power is hit by 7k, so there is no real need to rev beyond that..... unless you want to hold on to the gear.
