Reccomend a good laptop...
I'm looking for a good laptop, have no idea what's good and whats not, or really have any idea what to look for in one!
Prob something around the 400-450 mark? (will that get a decent one?)

Why stick with Windows if you mainly use if for surfing. Save up and get one of these.

I'd recommend a Dell any day of the week. You just build it to whatever spec you like online, then they build it and it's shipped to you in no time. Easy, and it will be hard to find the same spec cheaper.

Well I would not buy a Sony unless you just sit it on you desk and not move it. They are just not built well and seem to fuck up a lote.
you could go Mac and then use bootcamp and then you can use a proper operating system.
Get a HP

I'd recommend an Acer machine, and in particular the Gemstone range they do. We've got 3 Acer's in the house and never had any problems. Mine, the Acer Aspire 5920G, was pretty close to top spec when I bought it a year ago, and even then it was only £720. Im sure you can get them for around £500 now.
