Default Turbo union size???

Does this matter ie the internal diameter of the union which bolts on the turbo and then the feed pipe

Reason i ask is a m8 who runs a 2.9 twin turbo wonders why it smokes on idle?

All comments welcome

Thanks Andrew there not roller bearing so hopefully union size and oil should cure it as both turbos are new and it only does it on idle once up to temp
