Default what size / make external wastegate?

I'm running 450bhp+ in my 3 door, and the external wastegate which i think is 38mm is shot - when researching new ones, there are lots of different sizes and brands available. What difference does the size of the wastegate make? I have a screamer pipe if that makes a difference... and what is the differences between a £60 one and £300 one!!
cheers

Price wise is you get what you pay for, the cheaper the shorter life time.
Size wise, you should keep the 38mm as this is more then enough for the power you have.
And what brand to choose, well, choose what you like design wise, as loong as you go for the "known ones" HKS, TIAL, Turbosmart etc etc they work better and faster then the cheep 60£ ones in my appinion

Gary's 700bhp Evo runs a Tial 38mm Wastegate.

I think the new build will be onto a 44mm, but it's been running 38mm for ages.
