in a cossie will a bd16 in be ok to run with a std ex cam and make 500 bhp

so on this set up it would be les laggy than with a bd14 ex cam ya

Yep, but it also depends on your headwork m8.
Std ex cam gives you better low down, better respons in the lower area, but a 14 ex cam give some more umph from 4k and up.

sounds like a std excam is the way forward, but it also depends on how you WANT it to be?
Your headwork is "mild" so you will get a LOT of torgue with std excam
