Default BMW tv people!

down here in devon we have gone digital now, so my e39 tv doesnt work anymore

now, i know that digital tuners are available to fit the std system, but im not keen on paying £450-500 for something i will use once in a blue moon, but i want it to work!

so, my question is, can i use the av channel on the tv? how do i input into it? do i need a lead?

im thinking of something like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-TWIN-TUNER-C...3A1%7C294%3A50

running through the av channel,

Hi James

I reviewed this before selling mine. I understand that the BMW digital TV tuner can be retro fitted, but I am not sure on how well the existing antenna does with it. I know my cousins BMW which has it Factory fitted was rubbish, and it struggled to keep the signal as well as the Analogue equivalent. Even so - it may have improved since then.

Try the following link...

Which was obtained from the legendary site that is

www.e38.org

I should emphasise that the E39 and E38 have an awful lot in common, and the Nav/ stereo systems are identical.

Infact James, that link you posted to that dual tuner is something that would be rather good - as you can use it for the freeview and still have a DVD player input in there too that goes thru the tuner unit - perfect solution
