Default Done something stupid!!

Drop it off at a mates garage at dinner time to have the v belt tighted has it was sqeaking.
Got a phone call a bit later your car won`t start











You stupid coot you filled it up with petrol

The cars a 1.9tdi diesel

Done about 40 miles since i filled it up with petrol and never missed a beat
drained out the petrol filled up with diesel perfect again but will change the fuel filter tomorrow.
Only had the diesel motor a month or so must remember next time

just glad i have not filled the cosy up with diesel

Anyone else done this??

a diesel will at least try to tun on old bricks, tyres and tar, whereas a petrol engine is a bit more fussy, even old petrol wont make it go somethimes....

Tony, I did a simialr thing the other day.

Borrowed my old dears car while my Pug Derv was in for its MOT.

Get to the first garage and start tanking her up with deisel!!! Bearing in mind its a petrol car lol. Luckily i noticed after 3litres, so the 27 or so I added diluted it a bit....could have been nasty!

Yeah did it with a work van. Bloody filled up an Escort NA Van with 20 Quid of Petrol then put the rest in diesil once I relised. Ran like shit.

Felt a right CVOCK

DOH!! ive only ever owned petrol cars and sometimes i still have to stand and think about it at the petrol stations!!

i put 1.77 worth of petrol in the parcelforce van one day when i was working for them but the put diesel in it

I have to think twise when filling my landrover up as that a v8 petrol and being so use to putting deisel in the lorrys i drive for work

goes better now than it did before the petrol must of cleaned the system out
