Default Bruntingthope yesterday: A great day had by all....

Whilst there are other posts on this subject, I just wanted to say what a superb day it was. I am sure that all those that actually attended had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting a number of people for the first time: Rod, Paul, Dave etc. I also learnt a valuable lesson: Try and avoid passing judgment on people based on their 'keyboard personas'; people are often very different in person…

Despite the inclement conditions, there was a nice selection of cars to watch in action. I was really impressed by the pace of the orange MK2 Escort, and not to mentioned the owner’s superb car control. It was a shame that the A1 Escort did not last long, but as Steve said, he had just bought it and it was an unknown quantity.

Many thanks to Neil from Carwise in York. Not only is he a top bloke, but his Sapphire has, without doubt, been built to a very high standard. We had 3 fast laps, or so I thought until he told be that the car was only running 1.5bar of boost and had a bad misfire . I cannot wait to see what this thing will do once he replaces his sunroof and cranks the boost up.

I have taken around an hour of video footage, so will do my best to get some CD’s done and/or post on the forum.

Hi All

I am glad I found this post as reading the five page review of "brunters" I was beginining to think no-one enjoyed it !!.

I have never been to one of these group thrashes but have to say I had a real good day, to quote "diablo" I think you had to be there.

Everyone was really friendly and it was good to put a face to some of the names you hear about in the Cosworth scene.

That Orange escort was brilliant to watch, wild with no traction in any gear, the only one to consistently come sideways onto the main straight.

Really empressed with the carwise car even with running gremlins, I have to say I have not seen such an impressive engine bay since the National day. Great guy to, Neil had time to help me out with some running problems with my escort even though he was busy trying to prep the car. LOL when the sunroof went into orbit at nigh on 170Mph

Even those lads in the M3's were top entertainment, hats off to their driving ability !!!

I would certainly attend one of these in the future thats for sure. The guys at PF were really friendly and made everyone feel like they wanted them to be there.

Cheers

Paul,

That was me with the bright Yellow jacket. I am guessing that was your White Sapphire? I am sorry we didn't get a chance to say hello, but I don't doubt there will be other occasions. If I manage to get the footage onto CD, I’ll send you a copy if you like?
