Default omex

just after some advice really.

at the moment i have a mk5 fiesta zetec-s. its got an frp lump in it atm so goes relitavely well. however, i get bored of things really easily and have been looking at getting more power, however i want to stay blue oval. i cant afford an rs which i see as my next step up so im thinking of dropping something like a focus turbo/rs lump into the mk5 shell.
i will be getting ocmotorsport to do the work. anyone at fitp yesterday see the green mk5 with st150 lump on itb's? thats some of his work. legend.
anyway hes already said id need to run omex with something like an rs lump. ive sourced a lump with ecu etc etc. the bit i dont understand is why cant you use the ecu from the rs? why omex?
and as i have to use omex would i be able to take a focus turbo with omex out of a focus shell and put it straight into the fiesta shell or would i have to completely redo the omex?

You'll have to get a new omex loom.

Main reason for not usign the FRS ecu is, I imagine, due to the car needing the original ZS ecu to control things not used by omex.

You'll need a new loom and that'll need to be integrated into the standard ford loom to control the normal stuff, i.e injectors, coil pack, MAP sensor etc etc.

For the amount it'll cost spending an extra 500/600 quid on an omex won't make much difference I guess.

I imagine it'll be mapped at Track n Road too, which is good, as the Steves are both good with it.

Why not post on ZSOC? Or is this a secret?

Yes.

I imagine though you could probably use the FRS ecu but might be a bit of a pain.

Much easier using omex on the engine side and leaving the standard ZS ecu doing it's thing.

Woooooo hold on.

Omex will have to run on it's own. You'll need FRS loom.
