I use this size on my MG, here's some pics of the 205 fitted to a 7.5" rim. You can see the rim protrudes further than the tyre, an 8" rim will be the same but the sidewalls will have to taper outwards another 6.5mm.. Toyo list the 8" rim as being the max width for this tyre.

And before any moaning types start (you know who you are!!) this is not a for sale ad!!

Any chance of pushing Toyo to make a 215/40 17 ??? to nicley fit 8" rims.

Avon list a 215/40 17 ZZR which is very similar to 888 but no production is planned at present (for Rim 7 - 8.5).
If lots of people ring Avon and enquire then it may speed up the next production run. HINT HINT.

Stu
I totally agree, and have been onto Toyo a couple of times but 1 person contacting them will not encourage them to prodce another size. We need dealers to let them know that there is a good market out there.

Similar with Avon, although they already have the size listed so the moulds already exist just requires a little demand to prompt a production run.
Tomorrow at work i'll add to this thread the contact name and number at Avon (Motorsport Dept).
