As far as i'm aware you can't buy them brand new 'off the shelf' anywhere, i may be corrected though? Unless you're lucky and find one mothballed which is unlikely, is a reconditioned head no good to you? Easy to get all the bits that go in the head, can get it skimmed, new valve guides etc and it will be like new

well i could take my head off and have it reconned - its at the mileage where you get a bit of wear and tear at 47k now. was told valve guides may be worn as i canstart to smell a tiny bit of burning oil every now and then. and yes every other thing has been done first to see if i can cure the burning oil issue.

ideally id buy all the internal parts from ford and get someone to build + skim the head for me etc.....

yes its all standard to the others that asked. here is my car, have a look

Get it done mate....valve guides can be done at an engineers as can the rest of the work, skim/check for flatness etc. Places like burton power as well as various tuners also offer his service on an exchange basis, this would be the easiest for you i'd imagine.

Give them a call or look on their website for prices....will depend on what 'stage' head you want i.e degree of porting/valve size etc. They'll fit whatever cam you choose i'd imagine...
