pm more details plz mate cheers
If you can afford it, stretch to a new model ( 2001+ STI )
The regular cars are no comparison. The STI has better brakes, beter suspension, a far superior gearbox, better engine. Everything is worth the extra.
The base models cars brakes are barely adequate, gearbox isnt very strong, and generally a much cheaper car.
If tis just a daily commute, they are fine. But if you want something to drive and enjoy, the STI is far superior, and will take a lot more abuse and tuning.

have you tried tyneteesscoobies.co.uk?
they meet at the dunn cow the tuesday before the rs owners club.
i regestered on there ages ago when i thought of getting one and still have a look on.
some pretty helpfull info on there.
am in the same boat as you mate i keep thinking of getting a bugeye scoobie as they as cheap as some saphs now and are probs a better car to use everyday.
never been in one though so dont know if they are quick or not.
