i'd sooner start with an experienced person next to me explaining why they are doing what they are doing rather that a manual. Can't beat experience, in more ways than one!
There are some good books out there though.

Yes - doing a degree in Autosport Technology
The job itself is varied, exciting and different, no two days are the same - one of the reasons i have enjoyed the last 2 years in it.
However, i turn 24 at the end of the month and currently am young, free and single with no mortgage/wife etc. so it is a 'now or never' move.
If anyone is thinking about it and wants to know more i'd be more than happy to discuss it with them.
Stu and Kenny are good people to work for

Could it be you? If it makes any difference I can give a refference. PMSL. Years ago when my car ran out of washer fluid and I had no money. Dan bought me some bottled water and even filled it for me as I never knew how. He even took me the garage. I would never have made it home, as my window got splattered with mud. They don't come much more helpful than that!

Bit late but CV sent
If I don't get it I'd be willing to work every Sat for free (and I mean WORK, not leach) just to learn half the stuff Stu knows!
Maybe I shouldn't have said I'd work for free - kinda buggers up my bargaining position a bit I think!

I feel offended I know im not in the 'technician' status but you do know one
A business like this is something ideal for an young main dealer technician,
If i was interviewing for candidate i would be looking for the following:
attitude, aptitude, willingness to listen & learn, good customer facing skills (role dependant).
Ive spent many an hour/day working with Stu/Kenny on my own vehicles at MSD and helping out with others I wish it was something I had taken up when i was younger, if I was not in a stable position with my own career then im sure by now I would probably be there myself (would stop kenny ringing me to ask if im sure I wont move ).
I would say you have to be interested in the motor vehicle industry to get on though, its not a job for a 'wanna go nugget' who thinks they would love to be into the tuning industry and have a go, used to be a chef etc.
recruitment is hard these days especially for an important job like this.
one thing I will say that the succesful candidate that shows commitment will not go far wrong at MSD, and the future would be very bright for that person, natural progression will happen at this company, and once fully trained, maybe even high managment will be achieved, if thats your thing, its what i strived for when I started as an apprentice many moons ago.

Thanks Everyone for your interest and thank you to everyone whom has applied. Apologies to those whom have replied and heard nothing, its just so busy with work here its getting to be crackers, all 4 of us are flat out 10hrs a day with no time to even eat lunch.
Nicole has helped me to work through most of the CV's over the last few nights and I will be contact people within the next few days with regards moving forward to stage 2 where necessary.
Everyone whom applied will receive some form of contact be it good or bad news.

Well, I had a very polite letter from Stu last week stating I had been unsuccessful in my application.
It's a shame but I'd like to thank Stu for giving my application consideration and good luck in finding the right man (or woman) for the job
