Also, it is VERY difficult to sign on/join the forum - so I would say just about IMPOSSIBLE for them to get new forum members.

If you have problems logging in, like I did about a year ago and send an e-mail to the webmaster/admin no one replies EVER!!!

Eventually some from PassionFord put up a post on there for me, explaining the problems - And they did try to fix it, but they gave up as they could'nt

As for trying to get a password out of them (for temp logging on due to problems), NONE of their passwords worked either

TOTAL waste of time IMO

I never have been an RSOC member, but from an "outsiders" point of view, they seem very clicky and one-upmanship, went to a meet local to me and the night was spent listening to one boring tosser who had 350BHP in his sapphy and anything else was shit , also the treatment of the people at donnington when all the cars were done over (2 years in a row ) was digusting, and to be honest when the RSOC BB went down the first time, It never really recovered due to PF becoming such a good BB, and them banning everyone who dared mention passionford shame, cos it used to be a good forum, but hey, times change LONG LIVE PF

The RSOC is going down the pan ,,not just its website ,,
They even want to limit the number of shows to about 8
And they want to run all of them ( They want the profits more like )
Set of selfish people who dont listern to any members ( what they say goes ) and if you dont like it then tough .
I have been a member for about 12 years on and of , but can take it or leave it now ,, and will probs end up leaving it

I am a member of the RSOC and the chairman of the Durham local group and yes, the website is very quiet and yes I use this website more because of that reason.

What everyone has to remember though is that if it wasnt for the RSOC (forgetting about peoples views on who runs it), the value of all your cars wouldnt be half as much as it is now, they would be just another old car that keeps breaking and rusts. The RS "marque" is still so very popular because of the RSOC and ford themselves listen and watch very closely to what happens with the club, hence the design and development of the Fiesta RS, if it ever happens................the bulletin board may be cack, the committee not to everyones liking but the club will allways keep the value of your beloved RS.

off soap box now

i allways look on there as do lots of others,

but dont post much, just like on here, as said before the club is more than just the web site,

its very quite on there, but so whot,

if you want a busy web site then look on here, remember this site is geared for all ford owners not just the rs ones and as such will have more people interested,

personaly the only rs shows that interest me are national day, castle combe, morgan park, santa pod, exsept the last one! rain and more rain!!

still next year in for free yes! well no how many people kept there tickets exactly not many! as they did not tell anyone till after the event had long finished that you will need your ticket, mine was well gone, now own up who else has lost or frown there santa pod tickets away still nice idea

the static shows are just to old hat, and after a quick look round get a bit boring,

at least if there is some sort of track action it keep the interest going,

Had some good times on there Back in the day!

Be be honest if the RSOC actually threw some decent money at the BB when it was in need of some without cutting corners n being tight then imo Passionford wouldn't have been born. When it was going down the Pan the 'Management' refused point blank in the face that it was in need of some outside Help. It was a total nightmare, always getting hacked, always slow....and they always moaned at us saying they hadn't got the Money. The site was moved from a US based server to a UK based one...they was ok for 2 days until it was hacked again then it all went to shit When Dan posted the actual Accounts of the RSOC on the BB and that concluded how much they were really sitting on and how much they were bullshitting us from the start . The Site then closed.......and lost the dwindling reputation they once had their and Then! Every1 then moved over to Turbosport for a week and then Stu found Pet and here we are.

No disrespect to the RSOC but you could have been much much bigger and better if you actually did something about the dwindling Message Board when it needed it most all them years back. As now you don't need the excessive amount of maintinence as you haven't anywhere near the traffic as the great Board back in the day. You've only got yourself to shoot in the foot as it was your fault..

you could have been the best..........but you died like the rest.....

I'm not sure I agree with that - I bought mine because of what it is, not that there was a club. I'm sure a lot of others are the same, and it's the demand for a limited number of cars that keeps the prices high.

all fair points, i guess, found about here from the RSOC BB so joined
only joined the rsoc BB this year, coz dad got an RS in august.

as in all BB's i find it hard getting IN, all BB's have a crowd of a few very regulars.

also dont think what i have to say would be of much value, im 18 dont drive or own a car, but dad has a sierra rs cosworth though.

im trying to give it a go with general posts, like "what you think of my ......" ect

seems ok, RSOC is good though as a club, love the shows
(well they could have changed as we went to the 1997-1999 shows, then dad got rid of his sierra 4x4 saff) and he rejoined this summer, we missed all this years shows. So for all i know they could have gone donw the pan as well as the BB.

have they??

i also agree with the post about the RSOC doing a lot for the RS marque, ford bringing a fiesta RS is a good example.

all in all though im mad about RS's and dont mind the Club and BB, does seem a bit quiet at times though, dont know what it was like in the past though (it was RAMMED at one point apprently).

right soz about the drone , but thats me! done

thing is though, its not the RSOC moaning about the bulletin board its other people.....the club is about more than just a website, anyone cann have a website but the club is about shows, track days, concours, magazine, club insurance contactable people for advice etc etc...........................who else can offer a show at a venue like donnington with a 2 day track event, one of them a noisy day! have formula 1 cars on track and the UK's first official unveiling of the new Ford GT.......have Team RS attending, the people who design and manufacture the RS marque listening to peoples ideas and taking into account what us, the RS member/ enthusiast would like to see!!!!!

This website is .......one of, if not the best Ford websites on the net BUT it is just that, it doesnt organise big shows etc etc and some people are just trying to kill off the RSOC because they jump on the band wagon of someone elses gripe about the club........if we arent careful and stop pulling the club down, they will probably go "Fuck it, cant be arsed with it anymore"....this will have a detremental affect on the possibility of any new model EVER being produced by Ford because they will just not bother and make more diesels for Reps and salesmen.

COME ON PEOPLE, STOP CALLING THE RSOC, IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, FAIR ENOUGH BUT DONT SLAG IT OFF OR WE'LL END UP OWNING CARS THAT ARE JUST ANOTHER CAR AND NOTHING SPECIAL.

rant over.......AGAIN, lol

Good post scott

I can see where you're coming from, and its good to get the views of someone who is very involved with the club

But regarding the website - I havent looked at i since Dan posted the accounts, and it all went off

It was too clicky and bitchy, so I joined here and have never been back... That has a lot to do with this place being so good than the RSOC BB being so bad if you follow

Neil.
