Evolution Chips ?
Anyone used one of these ?
Its looking likely I will soon own a Octavia 2002 1.9tdi Elegance 130hp model.
Had a look at the evochips site and ill get alot more power and torque for £350 remap and get better mpg too, which is a bonus!
Just wondering if anyone has an evochip remap and what do they think of it ?
Thanks!

I had an Octavia tdi remapped last year (not by evolution chips) and within 10k the dual mass flywheel and clutch shit itself. Common on a lot of the VAG tdi's once remapped.
I know this has got nothing at all to do with the OP / evolution chips, just something you ought to be aware of.
Mind you, that 10k was a deffinate improvement performance wise.

days are numbered for the dual mass flywheel and clutch on a chipped car...... there suspect on PD130's even as standard
my brothers building a mk1 Caddy with a PD130 & he's done away with the dual mass flywheel and fitted an uprated clutch (not sure on the spec of the parts he fitted in the end)........ that's getting chipped as soon as it's on road
I agree

Although it cured my slipping /vibrating clutch, there was an underlying subtle vibration through out the car when it was running, with the clucth pedal pressed down it was very noticable. Mind you im a fussy bugger.
I just found out its the 110hp engine..... any differences as to clutch and flywheel ? Ive no idea what it should therefore map to, but 150hp ish and 300lbft would be very nice
The 110bhp should map to 145bhp easy and a good 280lb/ft+ torque.
Is it a 5 speed? If so, yes the clutch is different to the 130 (6 speed). The clutches are bit smaller BUT cheaper to replace! Hope this helps.

Btw, the above graph Diva posted is off my car.
Mapping it has been the best thing i have ever done to it. Better fuel econmy on a run and the amount of torque the thing packs is silly, mid range on the motorway is properly good for a normal run of the mill diesel.
And me and my mate timed it last week on the GPS.
With a proper crappy launch it managed 7.93 to 60mph and a 16.03 quarter. Easy do the quarter in the 15's and could get the 0-60 down to about 7.7 i reckon.

I have a remap SEAT leon was a 130 to begin with, who knows now, was remapped by MSD and have done over 25,000 miles in it (car has near 90k on it now) and it has never had a flywheel in it yet, and has no issues at all , just a great driveable reasonably quick road car that does over 50mpg on the motor way
Mine was a 110 tdi, remamped to approx 145bhp and it certainly went well! Only downside was the fuel computer used to over read a fair bit after being mapped. It would do 50 - 55mpg day in day out (i used to do 600 miles a week in it) but the computer said 64mpg + most days!

My flywheel and clutch kit was about £180.00 plus the vat (trade)
