Default 1k track toy

I currently have about £1000 to spend on a cheap track toy. With there being soo many cars out there, I cant make my mind up.

What would you guys get?

205 GTI already prepped! theres a few rally ones about as people tend to be opting for the proton satrias. that might also be a good choice as its got IRS and a really goodd handeling setup as standard, also evo 3/4 suspension slots in with minimal modifications to the top mounts(drill new holes)! let someone else do the labour and take the hit for upgraded parts!

Nissan Almera 2.0 GTi - Primera 2.0 GT

Mechanically bombproof, handle well, discrete enought to leave anywhere and cheap.

106 Gti gets my vote ive had two in my time an they are fantastic little cars that would make for a great cheap track toy that would supprise quite alot of the more expensive stuff .....

I'd go RWD for a trackday toy.

- MR2 Mk2. (n/a version).
- MX5 (£1000 is more likely to get you a 1.6 engine rather than 1.8 though).
- E30 BMW

Im even more undecided lol My first idea is to get a 205 GTI which has already had a lot of work done to it (maybe MI16 or GTI-6 engine). Next is a 106GTI or VTS.

There was one on ebay that finished this lunch time with a 2l zetec and R1 carbs in it. I didn't meet its target so have contacted him about the reserve price.
