So every car on the road is going to go through loads of radiators as well then, because they're only a couple of inches further back
They might be slightly more exposed, but if a stone was going to take out an intercooler, the chances are it would take out a radiator too.
My Gtir front mount has been OK for 18months now.

some coolers are stronger/tougher than others...
If your cooler has an 'extruded' type core then it will take a pretty good impact before leaking..

Like mine is you mean

I knew what you meant

My point was, the radiator is only slightly less exposed by the bits of bumper in front of it and you don't often have stones go through them. (given the amount of stones and cars on the road ) So hopefully the intercooler will be just as safe (lucky? )

think this is a bit of a "thing" really.

You talk about stone piercing intercoolers and rads, if it happen that often as often as some people think, god damn no one would have a car to drive, never hadnt anything happen with mine didnt evern dent any cooling fins. I have also never heard of a stone peicing a rad or intercooler

have to say- i've been making front mount intercoolers for 16 years and I could probably count on one hand those that have been seriously stone damaged (holed)
