pc to pc file sharing
Dunno if anyone can help me at all?
i have 2 pcs in my lounge-The main one is the one i am using now and is connected to modem and router
2nd pc is connected to the tv
both pcs run vista edition.
I can access files on my main pc from the one connected to the tv
I CANNOT gain access to files from my main pc to the one connected to the tv.
Any ideas anyone please???
The message i get from my main pc when trying to access folders from one connected to tv is as follows...
"windows cannot access \\lounge-pc
check spelling of name otherwise there may be a problem with your network. To rectify problems click diagnose"
I have done that and then get the message
"cannot communicate with lounge pc then ip number etc etc
windows found a problem that cannot be repaired automatically. Contact isp or network administrator."
Bit lost now as to what to do next.

Probably won't be much help, I'm not an expert and I'm not a Vista user but...
I assume that both PCs are connected to your router. Do either of the PCs report any problems with the network connection? Are they both set to obtain IP addresses automatically? The router should then allocate them an IP address and act as DHCP and DNS server.
Are both PCs part of the same WORKGROUP or DOMAIN?
Have you enabled file sharing on the tv-pc? And shared some folders on there.
Do you have any firewall software on the tv-pc that might be preventing your main PC from connecting to it?
