dan, this is the main thing you need to keep on top of imo.things change over time.i used to buy both mags when i had my escort turbos for the rst's and if there was a cossie i would look and dream but not understand what they were on about.
i then went off your mag big time due to the fiesta's,mondeos' etc with body kits and ice. not imo a good route.too max power.and most werent fast.
you then changed your game and i started to pick up if it had a good car that caught my interest(not always the cover car either) normally a cossie.
i now buy very regularly due to the quality of car and how its written. and yes i mainly buy for the escos but i love them all,the 3drs and especially saffs. but i do still buy on the strength of a cracking car.as mentioned luke's fiesta interests me alot, and there has been the odd focus to pull me too.the dark grey st in this months is a favourite of mine.
theres alot of different ways of tuning and the more we read the better imo,as its always good to compare

Yeah the chavved up cars were definitely 'dark days' for Fast Ford! All that had gone by the time I got my hands on the mag thankfully (thanks to Si!).
Making the mag involves treading a fine line between keeping the traditional reader happy, and at the same time offer something for the person new to the scene. But if we don't do that the market we're aiming at will slowly shrink!

Until last 2 years stopped subscribing to mags after i felt they do not contain anything of value in terms of quality, variation, educational or entertainment to justify subs and rarely see them stocked anywhere either to buy on the of chance.
Would like to see better articles about Ford in motorsport past to present there is so many characters over the decades in so many cool locations, the racing incidents, the teams and drivers and ofcourse the cars and technology. I think would add a certain entertaining yet educational edge opposed to the current spend your hard earned on these x y z mods as a fashion statement more than anything else which makes me avoid wanting to subscribe to either pf or ff again. Maybe im just getting old?

We do if it's a buying guide, or feature all about that particular model of car. But when it comes to actual 'feature cars' we're a tuning magazine so we primarily feature tuned cars!
If you like the bufty side of things however, then you'll like an issue we've got coming up soon!!!

Agree, I stopped subscribing years ago.... I flick through in WH Smith when I'm at the metrocentre as 50% of the cars are crap....
Shit boxes with lots of money thrown at them.........
Every issue the same. lots of shit cars not worth a feature....

People generally don't take too kindly to us mistrusting them, so it's not something I'd rush to do. I've had a hand in hundreds of feature cars over the years and generally the owners are genuine and know the score. The odd person does try it on but we often find out (there was another car/cars in this issue of PF where the owner tried to do the double, but was rumbled)
It's unfortunate in this instance as both could have been avoided!
As for the X Pack - Mk2s are too old for us, so it would be CF territory!

I don't mean 'just standard' I mean a 'mint' example of with low miles, well looked after. I had a mint concoourse RST and won the Gold cup and many regional days to ber turned dwon by Fast ford to look at shit in thamag for the following months 'just' because they were modified.

mk1 tina featured in this months retro ford, all very nice but should really
be in practical classics or classic cars mags, not a modified car mag.
Getting back to the original point , I had a problem where I was doing a
shootout at brunters for tinas in classic ford and had promised ben birch
the first proper feature in retro ford , we had to rush the feature out just
in case c/f had taken enough pics to do there own feature !

i love all this behind the scenes magizine bullshit and i dont know why
its like cornation street but in a world of ford cars and stuff
i much prefer ff because they seem to be into a lot more things like me - rwd cars and drifting and mad driving and stuff. would i be right in saying that before a recent sierra, there has not been a rwd pf staff car for about 2/3 years!?
also i always found it funny how pf always completly ignored ford fair like it never existed, even though its nearly the biggest and best ford show on the calender.
fast car even used to feature max power live ffs!
a thing i would like to see less of is buyers guides
there are only so many cars ford made that you can do a bg on.between the two mags in the last 5 years there must be 10 saff cosworh buyers guides
maybe cut it down to one evey two months
a thing i would like to see more of is ford motorsport history stories from around the world. i would love reading about great race stories or eras or cars from american motorsport or austrialian touring cars or the like. ford is as big there if not bigger and has a huge history which i think would make a great read. i love reading all the rs200/rs1700t/gt40/mk2 rallying stories
anyway keep up the good work ff, and work to keep up pf
