Default After years of searching i finaly got a ,,,,

GSX R

I love the old school bikes and have looked everywhere for a MINT unrestored GSXR , I would rather have found an 1100cc but when i was offered this i just had to have it

Completly untouched and std bike

Now i know compared to modern bikes its nothing super fast but i just love the late 80" early 90"s bikes

And i was double shocked how cheap these can be bought for

anyway here is the old girl

Cool Paul. I remember you saying you'd just passed your bike test when I had my Fireblade and DT that I was trying to do a deal with you on. That looks a real minter.
Just be careful out there mate, there's a lot of dopey buggers on the roads.

Just don't break anything on it mate, you would not believe the price of bike parts new! OE parts are outrageously expensive.

my favourite Gixer in my favourite colour scheme.

Just get some better rubber on it and get out on it.

.. and give the wheels a rub over with WD40 or something similar. It won't keep them clean but it will make the dirt, road crap and chain lube easier to wipe off after a ride. White wheels are great but an absolute arse to keep clean..

enjoy

I was just flicking through your threads paul as I wanted to look at something on your sierra build when I stumbled across this gixxer thread!

Here's my '89 750K

Owned it for 11-12years now. Whats your's, a 750m? Looks almost completely standard as well, which is fairly rare nowadays A good site for future reference is www.oldskoolsuzuki.info

Which model 750 though, looks like a M to me, about a 92 plate?

There's been a couple mint one's go through that oldskoolsuzuki site in the forsale section. Im planning on building up a decent engine for mine....B12 short motor with my dot head along with a lock up clutch also. My model is supposed to have a silencer on each side, so I want to get another micron on the left to match up with the right and get it all plumbed up.

I had a RD350LC before this....half heartedly on the look out for another. Sold mine for Ł600 and it was tidy....gutted now

I love all the bikes of that era, I think its very comparable to a 3 door, as both were the first time that essentially paupers could go genuinely quick, as in supercar quick.

Ducati 888 is another bike of that era I lust after.

I dont see how anyone can not like them

For your future use....

http://www.slingshot.cc/tech/microfiche/index.htm

once you've got your part number from the microfiche link, phone up these people..

http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/su...30b473d5906c6b

...as they seem to be able to sort most parts that your average bike shop cant find anymore. If you sign up to the oldskool site then you also get a discount at robinsons

Yeah its an M, the last of the oil cooled bikes....model after yours was the WN which was the first of the water cooled models, hence the W.

If you wanted to be a real GSXR tart, buy a GSXR750RK....would go well along side a RS500 as they only made 500 RK models (commonly known as the 'double R' out of the uk).

You can just make out its tarty dry clutch poking out from behind its fibre glass fairing
120bhp standard but was basicaly like the RS500 in that it was ready and waiting to be track prepped. Looks very similar to mine in many ways.
