Default Missfire Arrgggggg...pls help...

Ive just put my car car back on the road today and it's got a missifre when you nail it. Once it gets to about 4500rpm the rev counter goes off the clock and the exhaust pops and bangs and the car tries to hold back.

On idle the rev counter sometimes jumps a little.

These are the things I have changed over the last few weeks,

Distributer Cap (Genuine Ford)
Rotor arm (Genuine Ford)
Ht Leads (Bosch)
Grp A coil (Woodford Garage)
Spark plugs (Motorcraft pp12's same as what came out)
Phase Sensor (Matt Lewis M, Marrelli)
ECT Sensor (Matt Lewis)

and ive cleaned the crank sensor up.

I did tinker with the boost a little bit, if it over boosts what would happen?

and whats the chances of it being an injector?

Have you set the time correctly ?

Is the coil new ?

I had the same problem once with a Porsche and the problem was with the coil, once I put some Rpm on the car, the coil overheated and the car cuted off....

Regards

Jorge

Yes the coil is new, it had a little missfire before I took it off the road last year which is why a changed it.

It's a performance coil, right ?

Chance it for a regular Cossie coil and see if it gets the same missfire...

Also maybe one of the sparks is bad, nevermind if they are new....Last year I've bought 2 sets of Bosch that were defective and were new....Now I only use NGK.

Regards

Right, we have progress.

Boost is at 13 psi and fine.

I managed to get hold of a friends standard cossie coil and guess what?

All my problems have gone away. Must be a duff coil.

I bought it new from Matt Lewis Grp A.

Not sure if he will. Ive bought it a year ago, however, the car has only done 151 miles since then. I have the box and receipt still.

Aye job done bud

I knew it had to be the coil side because of the rev counter on idle. I asked a Ford mechanic whilst I was in picking up my starter motor and he said clogged up injector!

muppet.
