seen this item on ebay, like a fault finder for the 3 pin plug on the older fords its up to £105!

not the same thing at all mate... the £13 one is a continuity tester, that just creates a circuit and rings to say you have a complete one.
the ford one plugs into the ECU and other parts to assess the fault codes within in. basically its a diagnostocs kit and the other, cheaper one is a bell...

on the 3dr you can fault read for free, just bridge 2 of the 3 pins with a paperclip etc and if any codes are present in the ecu the red engine diagnostic light will flash the code then just read the flashes against the codes in the workshop manual and bobs your uncle.
i think the fact it is a ford dealer level "special tool" is helping the price,the star tester i used when i was at ford was gash,dont know about that one not seen that type before, doesnt look like its any better than any other flash code reader.
