Not a Clifford

Everybody I know who's got or had them have had no end of problems. Seem to be a worrying number of Clifford protected cars going walkies.

Sigma have some new kit out which seems pretty impressive

Cliffords seem to be a Marmite alarm. People either love them or hate them.

Seeing as when I was looking at new alarms I had more than one Clifford dealer tell me they were crap. I was a little concerned to say the least. I was offered alarms that were cheaper than the Clifford. One said he would fit one for me if that was what I wanted but it wasn't an alarm they recommended.

I've just had a toad alarm fitted, recommended by martyn on this site who also has one. They seem to be the best CAT 1 available at the moment, and have heard quite a few people highly rate them. They're good on price aswell. Definetley the one to go for in my opinion

p.s. good choice on the car aswell

i had a clifford and the people who fitted it melted my ecu and engine loom fitting it, had to have a new ecu and loom and then i had more problems with them wireing the fuel cut off into the loom and then when ever i went over a bump the car cut out , so had it taken off and went to court and sued them for the money i spent out, alarm cost £450 and the damage they caused cost me over £1k to put the car right again, they have been closed down now

have got a toad now and never had a problem with it and the people who fitted it knew what they were doing

go for a toad

think the last comment is just the fitters problem not the clifford alarm^^^^^^

i've had clifford on 2 rst's and never had a problem. my brother and mates also have them and never had any problems.

every professional i've spoken to rates them highly.

toad and clifford were origonally the same company so are very similar.

i'd go clifford all the way but get as much advice as you can from professionals, both stockists and none stockists.

yeh it was a bad fitting on the alarm but when clifford came down to look at the alarm, they said there was nothing they could do with it, which was nice for me as they make the alarm and should of been able to fix the problem for me but they did nothing, if they would of fixed it i would of been happy with it but they just walked away and left me to it, great after sales service

so i got a toad for mine and have never had a problem and the after sales service is the best i have come across IMO

I'd have another one

I've had clifford's concept 300 alarm on both my cars and was very pleaser with them. I think problems occur with them when there badly fitted. Never a problem with mine though. The dealer who fited it was spot on.
