its a 2 inch hole saw you need. try not to use huge speed when cutting through and try to use cutting fluid. hole saws heat up and burn out very easily

i'd try and use a 2" hole punch much better and you only need a 12mm hole then punch the 2" hole.
if not as above 2" hole saw slow speed lots of cutting fluid, get a starrett hole saw for metel and you wont go far wrong!

a wood one would proberbly work on 1mm steel, do it nice and slow, make sure its flat on some wood and keep spraying wd40 on it as you're drilling it, should be fine

They're the ones I bought, pretty sure you can get the 52mm seperately though.

+1

Max rpm kills these, take it slow and make sure you have a good cutting compound or at least oil on it.

Short slow bursts on 1mm works well if you can't get pressure on the steel.

No contest, hole punch it is, no mess no swarf, just a little manual labour, holes are so perfect don't even need deburring afterwards.
I have the whole set of punches that do from around 1/4" up to 4 1/2", plus metric, best things I ever bought for this.

Hey up Dan, long time no spekken

Cant you mark out the area to be cut, then use normal small drill bits to go round the outside till youve gone all way round, then metal file to make it as smooth as it needs to be?

Thats how I'd do it

nice one bud, pisser about the amal valve lol

no in any rush at the mo, will be working on the car all day tomoz to finish off the brakes etc, not sure yet how im going to bleed them if i cant find the right size cap for my pressure bleeder lol.

also got to roughly set the compression struts and tcas so the thing goes in a straightish line lol, do a complete nut and bolt check to make sure its not going to fall apart while being dragged down the road and put some oil in the gearbox and diff...

oh and fit the drivers seat and steering wheel

and whatever else i find...
