got in from work opened a letter saying basicly that the council have sent me a fine for littering. It says in reference to the original letter that was dated on the 31st of march hadnt been paid and i had 14 days to pay the fine or i'll go to court.

I've recieved no letter or fine for anything previous to this one!
I called them to ask wtf, this bint said i had to appeal, i asked against what?
I've had no fine or anything prior to this.
She says well you'll have to appeal
Appeal against what i say?
She says the fine!

WHAT FUCKING FINE?
I've not recieved 1 for anything?
She then said well appeal then! Wtf
The call didnt last long after that
To my knowledge i've not littered or done anything wrong.

So what do i do?

you wouldn't appeal if you were bang to rights, but as its not, you need to appeal !!! Thats what the appeal is for, people who havent dont what they're being accused of!

Do you smoke? Cig butt being dropped is considered as littering and someone must have saw you. And the fact that the letter got to your house, you might have done it while driving and they got your number plate to get your address.

I got sent something similar from the Wirral council when I was doing the refit of Diligence in Birkenhead. They told me I was being fined for dropping a fag end out my car window. I wrote them a letter on Royal Navy headed paper asking them to supply evidence to prove it as I was disputing the allegation.

Never heard another peep about it

Same happened to me, had to pay Ł80 as they got me on cctv chucking a fag out the window.

they got a workmate throwing a straw cover out the car window at 6am in the morning on the Rock Retail last year, twat only gave me Ł50 towards the fine
