Postage lost parcell advice needed please help
I sold a set of air injectors to a forum member posted them normal post (my mistake only do sign for from now on) anyway i have a recipt of postage to his address & tracking number so i cann prove i posted them.
He has said he hasnt received them & checked with his post office they arent there either.
How do i go about resolving this i dont want a post saying i have ripped him off as i would never do a thing like that the money isnt that important to me , how do i know he hasnt had them ust pulling my leg as i know i posted them & i have proof

Is there a procedure for claiming compo off the post office when his happens?
Similar thing happened to me a while ago ( with a set of injectors funnily enough) and the lad started slagging to ebay so I just gave him his money back, couldn't be arsed arguing in the end. The lesson is ALWAYS post recorded

IMO its your responsibility to get the item to the persons door, if you use uinrecorded delivery then you're asking for trouble....may aswell pen 'steal me' on the parcel as royal snail are robbing bastards!!!!!!!
What did you agree with the buyer over postage? how much did you charge him for postage?? as that all makes a diff IMO

i don't care how much it costs, i'd rather pay for proof of delivery and charge the person at the other end or pay for it if i was ordering something just to have peace of mind, that extra few quid saves a lot of agro

I have posted loads of stuff this way & never had a problem , thing is the guy that bought them wasnt here he was working away or something so they could be anywhere.. thing is i paid Ł250 from msd for single air injector new then swapped it for twin ones & only got Ł150 back so its cost me Ł400 for nothing as i have to cough up for them & i know & have proof i sent them

How do you get trackable proof from just normal post ?
1st class recorded covers you upto Ł36 plus price of postage on top.
I have had to claim only once in the last year but that went trouble free once all the paperwork was sorted and the receiving party (or not as the case went) also filled in their forms as they will send them forms to fill in too.
It is up to the sender to sort out the forms with the royal mail and you will have to allow at least 14 days to pass before making a claim, then you have 30 days to do so.
I guess you already know your looking at a large loss on the claim once it goes in so its a case of lesson learned the hard way

Non trackable sorry.
Session prefix is from the server that printed the postage stamp details.
There will be no way you can prove one way or the other if the item was ever received.
Under the postcode if it says
"It is important that you retain this receipt as it is your proof of posting"
than that is all you need to start a claim on the 15th day after it was due.
A P58 form is what you need to start a claim
ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/pu...rm_English.pdf
They will require evidence of the value of the items sent (value is not the invoice or sale amount) but your compensation will be upto a maximum of Ł39 (now) or Ł36 before the price increase.
They will also send out forms to the receiver who must state and sign he has not received the parcel before any claim is paid.
