Exhaust flames - orange vs blue.

What's the score with exhaust flames - why are some blue, and why are some orange?

Just interested this is all.

mine only goes blue during a spark cut event

I believe it due to the amount of oxygen present at the point that it ignites.

like a bunson burner, when the collar is open the flame will burn blue, close the collar and the flame will burn orange

Yes thats correct, which is why mine only does it on a spark cut, as then there is unused oxygen in abundance which there isnt when the engine is running normally, especially not on a rich map.
