Default Seized electric window motors?

Can these seize up through lack of use? I fitted a window mechanism that hasn't been used in at least 7 years to my XR4i only to find that the motor wouldn't work at all.

Before fitting the other side, I tested it direct to the battery and it won't work either.

Is there a way to release these? I'm especially looking for a way to free off the one I've already fitted to the car...

I know they can seize as I changed both my back ones today, only after 8months I dont sit in the back though .Can you split them ? is there a bottom piece that you can get off the motor. If there is a bit held on with torx screws separate and see if its the motor or the gear mechanism<(that was my problem) that is seized.
