Default computer boffs help-urgent

i have a lap top that has a major problem with the boot up file/s.

Windows cant fix it but i want to try to reload the same OS over the top to save data on the hard drive.

When booting from windows cd it gives me options to put the OS on these 2 ?drives?

E:Partition1 (inactive(OS/2 Boot Man 4103MB (624MB free)
C:Partition2 [unknown] 34044MB(34044MB free)
unpartioned space 8MB

SO do i delete a partition if so which one or do i run set up on a drive if so which one? remembering what im trying to do here and save as much data as i can if at all possible.

thanks
steve.

C:\ PARTITION 2 is the one you want to reinstall to - i'd take the hard drive out and use it as a slave on a working pc to backup your data first tho
