Default Surge Protector Blown

I have my computer equipment connected to a Belkin SurgeMaster which i purchased around 9 months ago. We had a powercut on wednesday which took out my computer.

No problem i thought, just a fuse to swap round. Turns out the sweet smell of an arc tells me its a little worse than a fuse.

Waiting a call back from Belkin so i can put a claim in, they have a "£25'000 Protection Warranty".. We'll see how effective it is.

Wish me luck...

Good luck! I'm replying to subscribe to the thread as I've also got a Belkin Surgemaster but for my AV equipment and would be interested to know how you get on. It was the warranty you mentioned that made me choose it.

Its the same reason why i chose it too..

They took down the model number of the surge protector and said instantly that they'd send me a new one and will want to look at the one that blew.

They also requested I send back with it an invoice for the equipment attached.
