Default Finding original dealer??

Anyone know how to find out which dealer your car came from? I wanna get some dealer plates for my cabby

The plates on it are gash wrongly spaced ones though
I 'spose I could get some Blakes plates or similar made up, I'd just like them to be from the right dealer

You used to able to request a copy of all the vehicle docs issued by the DVLA, for a nominal fee (was a fiver). For that they'd send you photocopies of all previously issued V5 reg docs, but more importantly, a copy of the original V55 first reg form that the supplying dealer would have filled in to get it registered at the local DVLA office. The dealers details will be on the bottom of that.

Try this link, it will give you the town/city your car was registered in from the last 2 letters of your reg number (i presume its a pre 1999 reg car) then look for the dealers in that area, it might help you narrow down your search a bit.

my cabby comes from Guernsey so i cant have my original reg and plate

why are they all numbers over there any way
