Default escort cossie 1/4 panels......

been browsing ebay looking at prices of panels and just general escos stuff and came across this panel...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/escort-coswort...1%7C240%3A1318

ok i would think it was a bargain if it was a new panel but look at how its been removed.....you would have to be paul daniels to be able to use that

the general thing with getting a good price for second hand panels is leave plenty on to be trimmed off and fitted ....not the other way round

i have looked and looked again and don't see the problem. i have worked in bodyshops that have cut a qtr panel like the ebay one in half and stitched it in with neat quick small welds to stop the panels warping and got a really nice finish to what was a bent fooked looking original panel.

aye if you say so you seem to know everything about everything....

i am also a panelbeater to trade and could make easily work it to fit if i had to..... like in 25 years when nothing decent that hasnt been bastardised isnt available.....

so you think Ł350 is reasonable then?

well i was going to say,why pay 350 because you could fix it rather than pay 350 for one that doesn't need it!

You mean they did few tack welds and used enough filler to sink the titanic? Looks good for a month, but i'd rather not

if you know body work why ask then

you should also know how much proper bodyshops charge per hr and if the qtr's had a proper biff it saves fucking about with the pin puller and panel beating and thus make for a better job without loads of bog.

i still dunno what you mean about you would need paul daniels to make it fit and then you say you could do it easily

are you debbie magee or somthin ??

ok lets start again...

whats wrong with the panel is it has been cut off without the door shut, its been cut too short at the sill ie the join would be above the kit, there is metal missing all round the arch, and the 8" or so that is under the bumper is missing...cut short round the tail light etc

it has obv been cut off leaving enough metal on the shell for them to rivey a carbon panel or similar in its place

you should have gone to spec savers

cheeky monkey,if the panel will go again and a decent body man can fit it, its loads cheeper than a nos one if you can find one.

i may add i would never use filler/bog on escort cozzie qtrs but lead them.
