Phone upgrade due
#2
I used one at work, didnt really impress me (although I am an iPhone user)
It seems to me that there are a lot of phones on the market that try to perform similar to an iPhone but just dont seem to quite be all there.........

Hows the c902 been for you? im the one who you swapped phones with.
The N95 8gb has been spot on for me, still got no plans to replace it
Is there something wrong with the sony or you just bored of it?

Blackberry storms are shite, I had mine 4 days before I sent it back.
My first N96 went back for repair 3 times, it was since replaced with another one, and that is just as faulty. Its a very good phone, just plagued with faults!

Bugger all signal anywhere, the clicky touch screen is a pig to use, buttons are tiny, predictive text is a nightmare as you cant use the ordinary 3 letters to a key as normal, its 2 letters to a key which takes a long time to get used to. In non predictive mode the buttons are so small its impossible to write a text.
Battery lasted about 10 hours from a full charge and that is only using it to send a few texts, the list goes on!!
Oh, and when you phone vodafone, one of the recorded mesage options is 'for blackberry storm faults, press 2'
Says it all really

As for the topic in hand, just pop into the shop you wanna upgrade with and have a play around with the phones there. Its the only way to find out what one wyou feel better suited with. People could tell which one is best all day long, but if you dont like it, it aint the best.
I went from a N96 to an iphone.... I aint ever going back to standard 'smartphone' again

There is, however it is shite and doesn't do what it says on the tin. It doesn't give it the quality of a picture taken with a 4MP lens; it increases the pixel count to that of a 4MP camera and doubles up, and also leaves the exposure time open longer so it lets more light in....

Ive got a c905 and its had the camera go blurry in 2 weeks
the 3 button come off the board in a few weeks after and then the screen broke after a minor impact in the car (my fault)
so its back getting fixed
the camera was the only reason I bought it and I'm not too impressed
its been fixed by insurance but if it acts up again I'm after something else
I should have added that I find it too slow thats my main gripe

Yeah i did try one of these for a short while till it broke, the screen went all discoloured when i slid it open, so when it was back being repaired i went back to the c902.

Got the gf one on contract and surprisingly im impressed with it too!!
Always been a nokia fan but deff tempted to get one of these on my old contract as thats on Ł15pm with the phone free.
Want to keep my main vodafone one free for when the N97 comes out thou!!
Someone at work as the storm and doesnt like it either, so much he threw it and the screen has a crack in it now
Also heard the n96 problems but as said the latest firmware aparently sorts out any problems?!

No one has any info on it - Apple are keeping it very hush hush : they haven't even made an official or un-official statement that there will or won't be a new model. It's all rumors at the moment, fueled mainly by the fact that the operators are dropping prices and beginning to sell iPhones factory unlocked in an attempt to clear stock levels - this only happened when the 2G handset was replaced by the 3G last year....

Whether there's a new iPhone model being released in June/July or not, the new 3.0 software will be downloadable on the 3g via iTunes anyway. As Thrush said, it's all speculation. dunno what apple could actually do to the hardware anyway, apart from maybe add a flash to the cam casing?? No biggy, all enhancements promised seem to be software based!

So the 3g i-phone is still defo worth getting??
I`ve noticed theres not alot of good talk plans on o2, either 1200 or 600 minutes, i want 850 like i have now with orange, is there any come and go when you phone them or is that their fixed plans through the board???
Thanks

I've had the iPhone 3G since August last year. Had lots of problems with it at first then new firmware came out for it and its been perfect ever since. Best phone\gadget ive owned. Does take good pictures in natutal light for what it is but only 2mp camera and no flash.

I have just got an Iphone 3g and im still unconvinced either way at the moment. Its missing lots of things that should be standard on a phone of this price. You cant Bluetooth to any computer or phone, the bluetooth only works with headsets/handsfree. There is no option to send picture text messages(mms) and you cant save content using the web browser.
Now im sure you can jailbreak/unlock the phone and have 3rd party software installed to maybe do these things, but these are things phones have done for years. There is a new OS coming for the iphone and it needs to have these features as standard.
Also rumours that the new iphone wont be exclusive to to 02 as well as the exclusive deal in the USA has just finished.

picture messaging is coming in the summer with the new 3.0 firmware, aswell as other stuff to allow iphone users to communicate to each other, typically being apple & itunes you cant bluetooth mp3's to other phones as you can on almost any other phone, but the iphone does so much more then many other phones. I can stream unlimited amounts of music and video straight from my PC to my iphone wherever i am. i can even check my webcam on my iphone via my pc and use it as a security camera. what other phones has an app store as big as apples ?

i've just got one too! and i love it! its a great little phone! battery is a bit of a short life, but i always charge my phone every night anyways!
